The nerfbat

The nerfbat gives, and the nerfbat taketh away.

Solar : 1/2 the energy output per tick.  Solar needed a bigtime nerf.   Before the moaning starts...consider this.  If solar weren't overpowered, why do you have 50 solar panels?

Water Generator : only flowing water blocks count for the water generator's output calculation

Wind Generator : half the energy output per tick.  This means that wind is still twice as good as solar.

Nuclear Reactor : Nuclear Fuel lasts 4 times longer.


And before you complain too much, go try out the geothermal Mark II.  That baby hasn't been nerfed, and it has some serious energy output.

Update Rollback

This update was far too ambitious.  <link outdated> my fixed version of the client that should be stable.

NOTE : Buildcraft 2.2.5 will have trouble loading some chunks with old piping from previous versions.  The entire chunk will be erased.

I can't do anything about this.  It's just 1 chunk most of the time, unless you built your entire base in one chunk.  (Gazer29 I'm looking at you).

November 4th Update

I have updated the client.  You can get the new client that you need <link removed>

Changes :
   1.  As per popular request, Zan's minimap Added
   2.  Recipe Book Removed.  Craftguide by  Uristqwerty added instead.  Hit G in game to bring up the guide, see the forum post Here.
  3.  Industrial Efficiency Mod installed.  It may improve server peroformance.
  4.  Buildcraft Updated to 2.2.5.  Duping bug patched, crash bugs that have brought server down about 8 times recently also patched.
   5.  Power Converters Mod Updated.  Check your craftguide for the new recipes.
   6.  Railcraft updated.
   7.  Wireless Redstone Replaced with Wireless Redstone Chickenbone Edition.  This version is MUCH more complex, see here : http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/758794-181chicken-bones-mods/
   8.  HD Textures for Buildcraft and IndustrialCraft and Railcraft are forced on everyone by default.  This should have a negligible effect on performance, but it makes the machines all look much more interesting.  I'd suggest enabling one of the THREE HD texture packs I have included until you find one you like.
   9.  Optifine was updated, and I've probably made other tweaks I am too tired to remember.

This version should be very stable - report any crashes to me immediately.

Mod Reenabled

Portal Gun Mod re-enabled.  Portals can only be placed on a very limited number of blocks, now.  (there are 3 blocks in the list...)

Be aware that the moment the server crashes due to this mod again, I will be removing it without hesitation.  So don't spend resources on Portal Gun Mod stuff that you can't afford to lose.

Tweaks I have made

I have made several tweaks to the rules for the modded items on this server.  As I get more ambitious, I plan to add custom machinery and items, but for now I've just made tiny changes to what is already here.


WW2 Guns : All weapons do double damage.  I felt that the weaponry lacked power, especially since in SMP where latency means it is much harder to actually hit something.


Industrial Craft Recycler : 10x energy cost, half the chance of getting good loot from scrap boxes.  I felt the recycler was horrendously overpowered, and it is now only moderately overpowered with this nerf.


Geothermal Generator : I made it so that it can accept buckets from more sides.  This means that you can auto-refill the generator with lava using 3 mods togther : Buildcraft, Redstone Power, and IC2.


Tesla Coil : Tesla coils charge up with a total of 100,000 energy instead of 10,000.  They can accept up to 512 EU/tick instead of 128 EU/tick (the output from an MFS).  They do massively more damage : with a full charge, they do 50 times more damage than before.  This is enough to kill someone in fully charged quantum armor in 2-3 hits.  Also, tesla coils have a slightly larger range...


Mining Laser : the mining laser does enough damage to kill someone in quantum armor in ~3 hits and to 1 shot anything else.  Realistically, a laser beam that could break a line of blocks would instantly kill any animal or person that has ever lived.


Nano Saber : The nano saber has a similar damage buff to the mining laser.  It also loses energy when it hits someone in quantum armor (but it can kill them in 3 hits)
