New Server

Client Updated 4/29/2012.  Updated to IC2 1.95b, updated thermometer plugin.

Server IP :
68.103.200.4
Client Download : Optifine Edition (faster framerates)

Standard Edition. Smaller Download as well.

Mods Enabled :  All are using 1.2.5

         Industrial Craft 2
Addons : Nuclear Control, Advanced Solar Panel, Advanced Machines
         RedPower 2
Addons : Tubestuff (a mod that grants an auto-crafting table)
Wireless Redstone Chicken Bones Edition, Railcraft, Backpack mod
Also, Better Ore Distribution and Ropes+

Did I miss a mod?  Anything you'd like?  Here's the mods that are not included, and why :
        1.  Buildcraft.  The new redpower is superior in every way to buildcraft, and does everything buildcraft does, even auto-crafting.  (with the help of the addon)
        2.  Forestry.  The new redpower does everything a forestry farm can do.
        3.  Power converters mods.  No need for these if you do not have buildcraft.
        4.  Computercraft.  No need for crude hacked together computers if you have Redpower Control.
        5.  Invasion Mod, Electric Fishing Pole, Crafting Table 2, Portal Gun, Charging Bench : I want to install all of these mods, but they are not currently compatible with 1.2.5.  I will be installing them when they are.

  2. Hello. I read your posts on technicpack/tekkit. I feel that way too.
Want to fork it? I can handle the launcher, you can do the server part. It's all free software (the launcher) and we can handle it.

  3. Why no CC? It's not actually crude. i can make a 16 pixel display with a computer that is much more controllable than one with RP2.

  4. Computer craft uses a very poor, hacked together Lua interpreter. It has dozens of issues as a result of this, such as zombie processes, memory leaks, etc.

Also, CC has a stupid recipe, so it simply ignores tech progression.

  5. BrickedKeyboard, did you consider my idea?

  6. Yes. It does sound like a lot of work. What killer feature could we add to be a significant improvement?

  7. I started some time ago and had kinda working a Qt/C++ launcher(Had a minimalist java CLI launcher, and a setup based on symlinks). My ideas were to make mods installable in an easy way. So easy that a user can drop some lines in a XML and have a working modded minecraft. Here is how i'd structure it.

I would fork spoutcraft's launcher as it has a cleaner env.

Also i would add LAN synchronization of saves (ondemand obviously).

    What do you think?

  8. stupid blogspot, deletes tags. http://pastebin.com/JWDyUG2M

These "profiles" would be downloadable from a repo or freely available from mod distributors.

  10. handland : several sub-folders down is a conventional .minecraft folder. It has config files you can copy over.
